Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also be a nerve-racking one. With the possibility of so many things going wrong, new parents may find themselves scheduling daily doctor appointments in every event of worry or concern.
When David Goberman’s wife was pregnant with their third child, anxiety sent the couple on a plethora of medical appointments. The stress of uncertainty during the pregnancy inspired Goberman, a mechanical and biomedical engineer to cofound HeraMed - a company leading the digital transformation in pregnancy care.
HeraMed is revolutionizing and redefining prenatal care, focusing on the development of connected pregnancy monitoring products for home use. HeraMed’s first product, HeraBeat, is a handheld ultrasound device that monitors a fetus's heartbeat and links that data to a smartphone application. The data can be instantaneously accessed by users, and shared on the cloud with authorized physicians.
This innovation will be intrinsically linked to reducing unnecessary office visits and alleviating the anxiety in waiting periods for expecting parents. So far, the device is available in Israel - its home of manufacturing. Pending US FDA approval, I believe this device will transform pregnancy care practices of the US and positively amplify digitization of prenatal health.
As HeraMed continues to lead in pregnancy research and the creation of revolutionary technologies, the company has launched Omiron - an AI powered pregnancy monitoring device that detects variables that indicate possible pregnancy complications before they even become a problem.
According to HeraMed, “Pregnancy monitoring data is generated at a pace that is far beyond any human capacity to analyze.”
With AI capabilities, Omiron analyzes pregnant patient’s medical records to identify existing and potential risk factors while a child is still in the womb.
